The Christmas liturgy is one of the best at NDP. All of the students and staff, dressed in their Christmas sweaters, are excited for Christmas break to begin. Also, the liturgy itself is a truly powerful and memorable one. Every year, the auditorium is lit by only candlelight during the Liturgy of the Word. It is never dark though, because the auditorium is lit by the candles of every person in the room. I am always fixated by the light of the candle I am holding. Flames hold so much power, just as God has an infinite power. He used that power to show us his incredible love in the form of the baby Jesus, who was born on Christmas day, over 2,000 years ago. If God is symbolized by fire, then God is all around us at NDP during Christmas liturgy. May God’s love light up the lives in all of the Notre Dame Prep community during this Christmas season and may his light lead us through a joyous 2017.
