I was contact by a recent graduate, Jaqueline Penn, who is running a campaign at her college to collect gently used bras for the charity Free the Girls [http://freethegirls.org/donate/give-bras/​ ], which helps survivors of human trafficking in Africa become economically independent. Any kind of bra is acceptable: sports bras, bandeaus, any other kind.

Jaqueline’s sister, Elizabeth, a Junior here, has also been collecting bras from her friends, neighbors and students here.  I wanted to support this effort with my students because Human Trafficking is a core component of the Senior Religion curriculum and also because the SSNDs have made a commitment to end this injustice

The collection will end on Thursday, November 6, 2014, so tonight could you just check and see what you could give, and bring it to my room: 224.  You can put them in the bag hanging from the board in the front of the room next to the words: Free the Girls!
