Hello, Blazers! As I’m sure you’re aware of, starting next school year, each student must fulfill a different set of requirements in order to graduate from NDP! In this article, I’ll dive into each of these new changes and what you can expect for next year!
First of all, every student must double up in math for all four years of high school. Whether it be juggling Geometry and Algebra II in freshman year or balancing both AP Calc AB and AP Calc BC in senior year, the possibilities for mixing and matching different math courses are endless. Now, students will have the opportunity to experience the joy of mathematics twice every day! Can life get any better than this?
Additionally, Gym Meet is now compulsory for every single student. You must participate in Gym Meet for all 4 years in order to earn the necessary credits to graduate. The skills you build during this beloved tradition, like teamwork, communication, and responsibility, will benefit you far into the future. And who doesn’t like creating life-lasting memories while marching, singing, aerobicizing, and dancing? You might be thinking that this is too good to be true, but trust me, this is real!
Furthermore, all students are now required to spend at least $100 a month at Cafe NDP. You can see how much was spent in a day through your account, and if the total is less than $100 a month even once, then you won’t earn the necessary number of credits needed to graduate. Now, everyone can indulge in the taste of our own cafeteria with no worries whatsoever!
Finally, every student must be able to swim 30 laps in the pool during a test that will be administered at the beginning of the next school year. If you can do this, then you won’t have to worry about taking swim anymore! However, if you don’t pass, then you’ll have to take swim for the rest of your Upper Level years. Who doesn’t love getting in their weekly workout in the pool?
I hope you found this article helpful as this school year begins to wind down and you find yourself preparing for the next school year! With these new changes to graduation requirements, NDP will be at its highest point yet!
