Welcome back to campus, Blazers! I hope you all had a fantastic summer and that you are ready to start the new year! This week I surveyed many people to get insight into various blazer-fied summers! The question for these brave volunteers was, “If you were to choose any celebrity to represent your summer, who would it be and why?”.
A few people expressed a lively, party filled and exciting summer! Grace S., ‘28, and Becca B., ‘26, described their summer as Olivia Rodrigo because they experienced lots of amusement and leisure. Katelyn W., ‘26, and a few others described their summer as Leah Kateb from Love Island since they had a “fun” girl summer!
Others experienced an empowering summer. For example, Ava F., ‘25, said her celebrity was Ruth Bader Ginsburg due to her summer filled with feminism and many experiences as a woman. Bella Bu., ‘25, said her summer was a JaNa Craig from Love Island because she faced adversity, but in the end, came out on top! Another response was from Mia W., ‘28, where she shared her summer resembled Zay Flowers for the reason that her summer consisted of hard-work and determination.
Some expressed an adventurous summer. Liana S., ‘26, felt her summer was similar to Paris Hilton since Liana traveled all over, even all the way to Europe! Dr. Pellechia described his summer as Glen Powell from “Twister” because his summer was “a bit of a whirlwind” traveling back and forth between Maryland and New Jersey, taking day trips and visiting the beach! Another person who visited the beach was Mr. Bender who thought of his summer as Brett Emmons from The Glorious Sons due to the meaningful lyrics and beachy vibes of their songs.
As much fun as adventuring, partying and traveling can be, everyone needs time to chill, especially from the heat! Taylor G., ‘26, and Maggie M., ‘26, both had a relaxing summer with lots of time listening to music and taking advantage of the break; they related their summers to Billie Ellish and Lana Del Ray, who are both very peaceful people. Mrs. Alderman also had a very lowkey summer and related it to Jenna Ortega because she is an extremely calm and laid-back person.
Several people had weird and absolutely crazy summers! Ana F., ’26, related to the Bunk’d star, Kevinn Quinn who played as a camp counselor named Xander at camp Kikiwaka. While Ana did not star on a Disney Original, she had to manage many kids who definitely had way too much sugar! Lila G., 27, had the wackiest connection out of all the interviewees. Lila related her summer to Kordell Beckham, also known as Kordeezy Cheezy from Love Island, saying, “I feel like I can relate to him and his long-term goals which align with my dream to sponsor smart food popcorn.” Well said Lila, we love a creative queen!
I hope everyone new, and returning, in the NDP community had the best summers and took advantage of it in their own special way. Even though we are back to the books, always find time to take a break or do something you love, it is crucial in order to be the best you can be!

Love this, Carolina! You might need to do a follow-up article in January to see how these answers have changed.
