Sailin’ Thru ’22 – Senior Bingo Night

Ella Piunti, Staff Writer

On Saturday, October 2nd, NDP held its annual Senior Bingo. Sailin’ Thru ’22 Bingo was a huge success! All 500 tickets were sold well ahead of the night of Bingo. This sold-out event was unlike any other bingo in the past because it was held outside in The Celebration Tent. The tent was decorated beautifully in the senior class colors of red and blue by the wonderful members of our Parents’ Association, who spent many long hours planning and perfecting every detail. The funds from this event will go to support the Senior Class and their prom-related activities.

As per usual, the Fathers’ Follies worked the event by announcing games, selling raffle tickets, listening for “BINGO!”, and providing comic relief to determined, and sometimes disappointed, players. The Captain and bingo caller of the night was Mr. Peri, who, like every year, did a fantastic job.

The game and raffle prizes this year were better than ever. There were tons of exciting baskets like “Fall Fun”, Aviator Nation, a Maryland Themed basket, and so many more. There were also many other great prizes awarded to raffle winners including a Beach Cruiser Bike, a certificate for an NDP Ring, and a graduation dress certificate, to name a few. Special Senior perks included hot Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, special door prizes, and customized Senior bingo cups.

In addition to great prizes, Senior Bingo had countless mouthwatering sweet treats for sale. Those with a sweet tooth could enjoy delectable Oreo-chocolate chip cookies home-made by Taylor Halloway ‘22, gourmet cupcakes, whole cakes, and so many other delicious sweets.

Thanks to Bingo, we will have money for our prom, the after-party, and all of the decorations. We are grateful to all of the staff members, parents, students, and community members who helped the night go off without a hitch.

Bingo is such a great way to bond with your friends and classmates, while also raising money for the Senior Class. Overall, the night was so much fun, and I am sad that it was my last year of Senior Bingo.
