Why Being a 6th Grade Ambassador is Important

Kyleigh Cook, Staff Writer

As you most likely know, there are lots of ways to get involved at NDP. However, one of these leadership opportunities stands out among the others. Being an ambassador is an immensely important job, especially in grades six and nine, when the number of interested students is very high. How else would prospective students get a student’s view of what the school community here is like? One of the top reasons we all chose NDP was because of how amazing our shadow day experience was. NDP is built up of one generation after the other, and we stand on the shoulders of the sisters that came before us, and through ambassadors, we reach out to sisters to come. This important job comes with a lot of responsibility. You are a reflection of your school when you are shadowing someone. You have to be in your best uniform, be on time, and have a welcoming, positive attitude towards your shadow and their family members. Being an ambassador may be a lot of responsibility, but it builds up and strengthens the NDP community for generations to come.
