One of my favorite things about fall is all of the delicious seasonal treats. Every year, my mom makes a variety of recipes for Halloween. One of my favorites is her butterscotch haystacks. It is such a simple recipe, too!

Ingredients Needed:

  • Baking Tray
  • Parchment Paper
  • Large bowl
  • 1 11-ounce bag of butterscotch chips
  • 3 ½ cups of chow mein noodles
  • Optional: ½ cup of any other mix-ins you like (peanuts, marshmallows, etc.)
  • Optional: Candy eyes

Directions:

  1. Get out your baking tray, and line it with your parchment paper.
  2. Put the butterscotch in a large bowl, and put it in the microwave for 15-second intervals until fully melted and stir.
  3. Stir the chow mein noodles into the melted butterscotch.
  4. Mix in any other ingredients of your choice.
  5. Using a spoon, scoop a little bit more than a tablespoon of the mixture onto the baking tray with the parchment paper.
  6. If you want your cookie to look like a monster, this is your opportunity to add the candy eyes.
  7. Allow your cookies to sit until the mixture has hardened.
  8. Enjoy!
