Hello, everyone! Happy New Year! Here are some songs to bring with you as you enter 2022. January can be a stressful month with the start of the second semester, but just remember to go easy on yourself and make sure you are still enjoying your time at school.

  1. “22 (Taylor’s Version)” – Taylor Swift
    • “Everything will be alright if, we just keep dancing like we’re 22”
    • Happy New Year! It’s 2022 and the graduation year for the seniors. This is a great party song to ring in the New Year.
  2. “Pete Davidson” – Ariana Grande
    • “And I know you know that you’re my soulmate and all that”
    • Although Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande are broken up, this beautiful ballad describes her past feelings for him. She felt like he was made for her.
  3. “Hot Rod” – Dayglow
    • “I’m sorry for not wanting to be your décor”
    • This song is about standing up for yourself in a relationship and realizing that your partner is not everything you thought they were.
  4. “Echa Pa’lla (Manos Pa’rriba) [feat. Papayo]” – Pitbull
    • “A mí qué me importa el dinero, A mí qué me importa la fama, Aquí lo que importa es salud, familia”
    • In this song, Pitbull sings about how it is not money, nor fame, that is important, but family and health. This is a great upbeat Spanish song that will put you in a happy mood.
  5. “Dreams” – Fleetwood Mac
    • “Thunder only happens when its raining”
    • This 1977 hit has a relaxing yet upbeat feel and is a great song to listen to with friends.
  6. “Mariposa” – Peach Tree Rascals
    • “I’ll keep running, just to find a way to you”
    • This song is about wanting to spend time with someone and being willing to wait for them. This is one of my top beach songs.
  7. “Find an Island” – BENEE
    • “I built this boat to last, You tried to move too fast”
    • In this song, BENEE sings about drifting apart from her partner. She explains how she did everything she could, but it just did not work out.
  8. “Waves (Robin Shultz Remix Radio Edit)” – Mr. Probz
    • “I can see the sands on the horizon every time you are not around”
    • “Waves” by Mr. Probz is a great song, but it is slow. This remixed version is better for people like me who enjoy faster-paced songs.
  9. “What a Feeling” – One Direction
    • “When the air ran out and we both started running wild, the sky fell down”
    • This song is about being happy and content and enjoying your company.
  10. “It’s On Again (feat. Kendrick Lamar) [From The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Soundtrack]” – Alicia Keys
    • “There’s no day off for heroes”
    • In honor of the “Spider-man: No Way Home” release, I decided to include this song that followed “The Amazing Spider-man 2” in 2014.

I hope you enjoy! Click here to listen to the playlist.
