What to Watch: Amazon Prime Video and Hulu

Caroline Wilking, Staff Writer

As we continue to practice healthy habits and social distancing, you may find yourself with an Amazon Prime or Hulu account, wondering what new series to start during our time out of school. The following article contains shows and movies that you may want to watch — in moderation, of course, because staring at the TV all day isn’t healthy or productive.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video has a lot of movies, most of which you’ve never heard of, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, this article will only outline the more familiar shows and movies. If you’re feeling adventurous, though, go ahead and check out whichever underground films you find most intriguing on the site.

In the world of television series, Prime Video is home to two widely popular ones: “Downton Abbey” and “Parks and Recreation.” With each show containing six or more seasons, you certainly won’t run out of material to watch.

Prime Video also has a few Marvel movies:

  • “The Avengers”
  • “Captain America: The First Avenger”
  • “Thor”
  • “Iron Man 2”

And some Disney classics:

  • “Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl”
  • “National Treasure”
  • “Spy Kids”
  • “The Karate Kid”
  • “Incredibles 2”

For the horror fan, “A Quiet Place” and “47 Meters Down: Uncaged” can be found on Amazon Prime.

Finally, Prime Video has two Catholic films recommended by our own Mr. Wielgopolski: “Romero” and “Entertaining Angels.”
