On April 25, 2024, NDP celebrated the 21st annual beloved tradition of DNA Day!
To celebrate, decorations were spread throughout the science hallway and a fun scavenger hunt was made for all to take part in. Scavenger prizes included notebooks, stuffed animals, keychains, and cards. On this momentous day, it is important to not miss the key part of DNA: the double-helix structure. On campus, we celebrated this formation by lining the science hallway with colorful streamers and models, all of which were created with recyclable materials.
DNA Day marks the major discovery of the structure of DNA as we know it – the double-helix. Not only does this holiday celebrate an amazing scientific discovery, but it also honors the material that makes up everyone. So it was definitely a no-brainer to celebrate the structure of everyone…with everyone!
In conclusion, DNA Day is a beloved tradition among the NDP students and faculty as it is a fun and interactive way to showcase the Science Department and their hard work!
