Project Greenway 2017

On Wednesday, February 15th, sophisticated and stylist girls strutted across the stage wearing the most fashionable clothing of the season. Though this may seem to describe a scene from New York Fashion Week or an exciting episode of Project Runway, this fashion show was held in our very own NDP auditorium. Project Greenway is one of NDP’s most popular traditions. Each year, high school students as well as middle level girls use all recycled materials to create a wearable outfit.

Project Greenway falls in the middle of Art Week, a fun-filled five days planned by the National Art Honor Society.  This year, a plethora of designs were presented including parachute pants, elegant ball gowns, and prom-style as well as casual, chic dresses. Some favorites include the Lilly Pulitzer inspired dress made by Nina Moore, Carrie Moore, and Caroline Hudson; Natalie Hahn, Katherine Marcotte, and Emmie Godwin’s stylish and very wearable jean dress; Addie Rahl, Nada Jokhadar, Julia Banashak and Emmy Gruebl’s meticulously made seeded dress; and Haley Metzger’s child-inspired dress which included Crayola Crayon boxes and coloring pages.

Overall, 2017’s Project Greenway was a great way to celebrate the design and modeling talents of the girls at NDP.  Unforgettable outfits showed the creativity and school spirit that all NDP students express.
