Friendships blossom between 7th grade advisories and students at School Sisters of Notre Dame sponsored, Caroline Center.
This year, NDP has begun an SSND based club to help our young women go forth and change the world! As part of the 7th grade Exploratory program, this new group is called the “Shalom Club.” Students meet ten times each month to discuss the charism of the SSNDs and meet and pray about social issues preventing peace in their world. Each quarter, another small group of 7th grade girls have been creating journals and sharing reflections in supportive settings to help each other brainstorm and share ideas for making their world (or their neighborhood/community) a more loving and peace-filled place to live!
Seventh grade advisories are each spending one quarter this year to explore ways to affect REAL AND LASTING CHANGE by creating, carrying out, and reporting their personal Peace Projects. Also, each advisory is visiting and making new friends with the young women who are students at the Caroline Center in Baltimore City, another SSND sponsored educational institution whose focus is career training for women.
